Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets OIV Director General Jean-Marie Aurand

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Jean-Marie Aurand, Director General of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), in Beijing on 12 Sept. 2017. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-OIV cooperation.

 

Vice Minister Qu noted that as one of the most authoritative specialized organizations in viticulture and vinification, the OIV plays an important role in relevant international standard setting. China is a major grape and wine producer and consumer, and has maintained sound cooperation with the OIV in recent years. China is willing to intensify cooperation with the OIV and conduct joint researches on the applicability of OIV's basic theories and technique systems under China's monsoon climate conditions, in order to jointly promote viticulture development and wine industry across the globe.

 

Director General Jean-Marie Aurand noted that China has great potentials in viticulture, vinification and wine consumption. The OIV attaches great importance to its cooperation with China and will support China in hosting wine competitions and other relevant events.
